COVID-19 Update – March 17, 2020

Dear Evangel Family and Friends,

This coronavirus pandemic is unprecedented in each of our lives. It is a fluid situation in which changes and recommendations are occurring within hours. And even though some may consider it an over-the-top reaction, WE still know that our LORD is in full control. As we remember from this past Sunday’s passage in Mark 6:46-52, no matter how deep or dark the situation, we need to remember Jesus sees us, Jesus comes to us, and Jesus speaks to us the very words we need.

As I and the leadership of our church have discussed and prayed, we believe that it is important that we be God-honoring to Him and His government that He has ordained for us (Rom 13:1-6). Therefore, we will NOT have services for the next 15 days in accordance to the recommendations. It is God’s top priority that we keep our congregation safe and properly informed. We will be informing you of what the decision for Sunday, April 5, and forward will be at the beginning of April. Also, I will be working on a possible way to get a message this Sunday to you realizing that this is all a “temporary” change in worshiping together via the internet.

This current situation is different than any others, but God has a plan and a purpose in all of it. As we learned Sunday night, we need to consider some important things in our lives but never forget to consider Jesus – the MOST IMPORTANT! For without Him we are nothing. Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Please note that if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us. May God bless and protect us as we adjust to this season of change – and remember, seasons eventually end. In Mk 6:50, Jesus reminds us again: “Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.”

For His Glory,
Pastor Andy Goad
