Drive Thru Bethlehem

Every year during the first weekend of December, the parking lot at Evangel is turned into Bethlehem.

Booths have been built and are decorated and manned by volunteers from within our church family. We start with hundreds of luminaries lining the driveway and parking lot.

You are welcomed to the town through our guarded gate and asked to pay your taxes from our local tax collector. We then have you drive through the town where you are welcomed by the storekeepers, a baker and some shepherds. You then will see the nativity ahead of you. As you turn the corner and look down to the next corner you will notice a walkway to the cross. But, since we know that the story doesn’t end in the manger or even at the cross, we also include an empty tomb to show that Christ came and conquered death for us.

You will drive by carolers singing and may even smell the popcorn or hear the sounds of the live animals.

You will then be invited to park your car and come join in the fun. Walk the town again and then let the children make a craft, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or grab a bag of popcorn and a cookie. We would love to have you sing some carols with us or just sit and talk with some of our church family.

This is a free, fun for the entire family event that our church enjoys doing for our community.
